Jenna Ellis Weight Gain. A Storm Of Negative Comments On Her Appearance.
Though Jenna Ellis has portrayed herself at news appearances, as an attorney dealing with constitutional law, interestingly, The New York Times reports reveal that she has no such background to reflect this expertise. Even The Wall Street Journal reported that she did not have any cases to establish that she had ever dealt with federal law.
On multiple occasions, she had made baseless claims during various political campaigns, including the one in 2020, for which she has been a target of public hate. She does have her own set of followers who support the so-called “elite strike force team” of presidential legal advisors, but you cannot miss the general dislike that people feel about her. This dislike has been projected in various ways, including comments about her weight gain.
On public forums like X (formerly Twitter) haters of Ellis posted comments like how much weight she might need to lose to look attractive, to which some users replied she can never be attractive; she would still look ugly even after shedding weight.
She Pleaded Guilty!
On the 8th of March this year, i.e., 2023, Jenna Ellis was publicly reprimanded by the chief disciplinary judge of Colorado Supreme Court, Bryon M Large, for misrepresenting multiple times on Twitter and national TV, and undermining the American people’s confidence in the presidential election in 2020, thereby “violating her duty of candor to the public”.
The ruling by the court also mentioned that Jenna Ellis had agreed that she had certain selfish reasons and indulged in misconduct. She also admitted to making near about ten misrepresentations in November and December 2020, and baseless claims, like the election was practically stolen from Trump in states such as Nevada, Wisconsin, and Michigan, and “President Trump won in a landslide“. She also falsely alleged that Arizona had recorded more than 500,000 illegal votes.
Jenna Ellis, along with 18 others, were indicted by a grand jury in Fulton County, Georgia, in the prosecution linked to the presidential election of 2020 on charges of being involved in criminal activities to extend Trump’s endeavors to overturn the outcome of the election.
After being indicted, Ellis had initially denied all the allegations against her and claimed that she did not lie or that she was “intentional” in making false accusations. However, later on, she gave herself into the custody of the police at the Fulton County jail on 23rd August 2023 and had to pay a fine of 224 USD as part of her reprimand by the court.
On October 24th, 2023, she pleaded guilty to an offense related to abetment and aiding of false writings and statements about her helping lawyer Ray Smith and Rudy Giuliani, “knowingly, willfully and unlawfully” during a hearing in the Georgia court in December 2020. The false claims included those like the presidential election in 2020 in Georgia recorded illegal votes from more than 10,000 people who were dead, more than 2,500 crimes, and at least 2,400 people who were unregistered.
Jenna Ellis said in court that in her efforts to raise challenges during the election in multiple states, she had failed to conduct her due diligence. This is because she was unable to ensure that what the other lawyers claimed to be true was genuinely true; she is the second co-defendant to have accepted this plea deal in the election subversion offense.
As per the terms of her guilty plea, Ellis was sentenced by the court to a probation period of five years and would have to pay 5,000 USD as compensation and also carry out 100 hours of community service.
Conclusion
After the court order, Jenna Ellis addressed a letter of apology to the people of Georgia, saying that she agreed to fully cooperate with the prosecutors and attorneys against the rest of the co-defendants.
